Wakasaimo has been making these manju in their shop next to Lake Toya, a popular summer getaway and onsen hot spring town, in Hokkaido since 1930. They’ve continued to use red bean, butter, wheat, and honey from local farmers around the pristine Lake Toya for nearly 100 years.
