Zao onsen is one of Japan’s most rustic onsen village. It’s situated right next to the volcanic Mount Zao. The area also gets tons of snow, so it’s best to hit up the ski slopes then relax in the traditional onsen. This snack is made kneading together buckwheat and rice from Zao, then softly baked and drizzled with milk chocolate.
